Cities in Turmoil: What Next?

Cities in Turmoil: What Next?

What is happening in the cities is disturbing; I am glad I live in a smaller town. I just read that there are “a huge number of gangs, 144 gangs in Memphis”.  Memphis!  Not Chicago or Philly.  Chicago is home to 117,000 gang members.” What are these people doing? Why are gangs growing? Who can stop this? The young people grouping together into gangs most likely need to belong. Humans are herd animals. With families so fractured, young people need to find a place to be with their own kind. It gives them comfort or a sense of belonging.

The national Gang Targeting Enforcement Coordinating Center (Gang TECC) is a unified federal effort to coordinate anti-gang efforts among several DOJ agencies.67 Gang investigators from the ATF, Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), FBI, U.S. Marshals, the DEA, and ICE share intelligence.” https://www.everycrsreport.com/reports/RL34233.html

Now, Washington, DC, is being rid of crime and violence. Who knows how many gangs ply their terror in Washington, DC? I am very much afraid that there will be more violence, not less, from these unrepentant thugs. Without the intervention of some military force, even before the end of this summer, the tensions might erupt into outright action between the law and the gangs.

The videos of white people being beaten (on camera) and no one trying to stop it should scare everyone. Why have we let it get so bad? Of course, it was apparent when our first black President came in and stirred the pot. It was obvious from the very beginning. But people were afraid to say anything about it. That fear of appearing racist has cost us dearly.

Obama set race relations back 50 years. Yet, no one called him out on it, publicly. People were afraid of being seen as racist for even suggesting that he was pushing things the wrong way. He got away with it. It was by design, not just by him, but by the unseen forces that want to destroy our country.

During his terms in office, there were abundant cases where his response exacerbated the situation. Treyvon Martin is a good example, and Obama milked it for all it was worth. Saying, “If I had a son, he would look a lot like Trayvon.” The story was enough to frighten anyone trying to keep a neighborhood safe. Be careful, or you may cause an incident that will land you in jail.

I read about a College graduation with “Blacks only” at an integrated college. These segregated events seemed like a throwback, and it shocked me. So I went looking for more examples and found that more than 75 universities have hosted segregated graduations.https://www.thecollegefix.com/more-than-75-universities-now-host-blacks-only-graduation-ceremonies/. Apparently, this goes for dormitories as well. People are human and prefer their own kind. This talk of people wishing to be with people who look like them is no longer allowed, yet this modern voluntary segregation proves it. Why is it forbidden to discuss people’s real feelings in real life?

What is going on in our world? While people are anguishing over Gaza, our own country is disintegrating before our eyes.

The disinformation is NOT coming from our side. Nor is the “Identity politics,” which is clearly a concept of the “Left.” Do you notice any difference in DC? The mayor says it is safe. Is there a lot of anger simmering beneath the surface? It may explode unexpectedly one day.  Everyone living in the City must be careful every minute of the day or night. Packages disappear from steps, purses are being snatched in broad daylight, they hijack cars at red lights, and the perpetrators get out on bail immediately.

Now, the President has said, “Enough!” And voila: we have a military presence in the nation’s Capital. Good. It is long past time to regain control of the City from gangsters and thugs. The city police have not been able to contain crime or stop it. One wonders if they have been paid off for looking the other way. Crime is well-organized in the City. The homeless are a separate issue, but must be relocated and helped if possible.

At this stage of my life, I am so aware of how little “things” really matter. I have plenty of everything. I want to do more for my grandchildren, but those “things” are also unimportant. They love me and I love them. For that, I am so grateful!!! Thank goodness we do not live in the City. Once, I believed that the City was the center of life. It seemed necessary to live in or near a big city to be involved in the life of the country.

Now I want to stay as far away from a big city as possible.
