Just Write a Blog Post!!!
There are so many subjects vital to life that need to be written about. Of course, puppies are the best of all. I could write about my new puppty all day long. However the world is in such turmoil and there are so many things I care about. It is difficult to choose one and focus on it. So here is a post with several subjects. You decide which ones you want to follow up on.
Lately, I saw the movie The Sound of Freedom. It weighs on me due to the horrific subject of child trafficking. Also, seeing how the mainstream media and Hollywood are ignoring it and/or trying to denigrate it, bothers me. Who can be against this film except pedophiles? Where do they get the idea that it is anything to do with QAnon? Some entities are trying to discredit the movie and discourage attendence. Why? There can only be one reason. They are supporting the human trafficking depicted in the film. This is not surprising because there is a lot of money in it.
Human nature is amazing and mystifying.
Many times our confirmation bias keeps us from seeing things that are right in front of our eyes. The Kennedy assassination comes to mind. So many people believed the Warren report because it was “official”. And yet, there were always huge questions that remained unanswered. Did it ever occurr to you that you were being deceived by the narrative you were taught in school? Because it is a huge deal. If in fact the American public was lied to outright for all these years, what else is not true?
Is being fit and healthy racist?
Lately, the theme of fitness, appropriate weight and general healthy living style has been accused of being anti-black. Seriously? One piece I read about this made it sound as if black people were naturally heavy. Trying to encourage them to lose weight and eat healthy food was cruel. But, have you been to Africa? Africans are not heavy. They are almost universally lean. At least they are until exposed to fast food. The horrors of artificially sweetened and salted foods designed to make the eater come back for more are true. Addiction to these tastes is a known side-effect of these places. I have always suspected that they put somehting in the food to make us crave it. Who is behind a notion that it is racist to emulate healthy people? And why would anyone support this theory?
Do You Have Integrity?
There is a story about a teacher who brought a fish in a bowl into his class. He took the large goldfish out of the bowl and let it flop on his desk.
He told the class that they were not allowed to leave their desks. If they did they would be forbidden to come back to school. He left the room and the fish flopped around gasping. It needed to be in water to live.
All the children sat and watched the fish as its gills opened and closed. It was dying. But the children were afraid of getting in trouble. They were sitting there squirming, conflicted but unable to break the rule of authority. Finally, a girl jumped out of her chair and ran to the desk. She gently picked up the fish and put it back in the bowl of water.
She was the only one who refused to watch the fish die.
When he came back the teacher told the students that it was all a test and a lesson. He told them that they should NEVER allow fear of getting in trouble stop them from doing the right thing. Sometimes, we may have to go against the group. Sometimes we must defy authority, because it is the right thing to do.
During Covid we all saw what group-think can be. We allowed people to force us and others to wear masks. We were terrorized. We were told lies to scare us. Churches were closed. People were forbidden to go to the beach. People wore masks inside their cars. We allowed the government to drive small business owners out of business. We allowed hospitals to keep people away from dying loved ones. In retrospect it is hard to believe that people were scared enough to comply. But they did. They paid tuition to Universities which sent their children home to study remotely. They washed their vegetables in disinfectant. The entire country went along with the narrative of fear and eminment death that was blasted over the TV daily. When I say the entire country, that is not true. There were many like myself who did not agree with the fear campaign. We did not comply. But we were shunned by those who were afraid, forbidden to go places without a mask (and later the shot) that was supposed to keep people free of the virus. Of course, that turned out to be false as well. BUT, there are still ads for the shot on TV, in the market, the drug store, and at some doctors offices. WHY!? The shot is a joke. Why are people still taking it? To force people to put experimental chemicals into their bodies and the bodies of their children in order to go to school or travel or whatever is outrageous.
“It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics.”
— Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love
Come on back, America. Let us be the Land of the Free once more. Stop bowing to all these entities telling you what to believe and what you are allowed to do. Because I am over 80 I find it inconceivable that an entire population would allow itself to be “ordered” around to its own detriment. Watching people lose their homes, go out of business, fall into drug use, or commit suicide is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
“As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight. And it is in such twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air—however slight—lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.”
—Justice William O. Douglas
Life is to be lived. Risk is part of life. Since when did we become a country that was so scared? This country was settled by brave men and women who risked everything to survive here. They were grateful to be free. They knew it did not happen by accident. They were prepared to fight to keep on being free. Be like them.

The thoughts shared here sound like they are drawn from deep places, like many of your previous posts are. “The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters”. They are softening hearts and stregthening the feeble knees to stand and defend the land from the nightfall.
Preach it sister!- enough of fear mongering…. Not sure why we are still being told we need the shots- new strain etc. Enough already.
Excellent Bonnie. Thank you for writing this. We all need to remain vigilant and strong and not succumb to the illegitimate powers of tyrants!
Thank you for reminding us Bonnie! You are so right – we must stand up and remember to do those things that are right.
